I have tried a couple of the recipes and they are good, but can be pricey to make. A lot of people dont have some of these products in their cabinets and they are out of the norm and not in the budget.
I made the Broccoli Cheese Soup and it was very salty. I went back and checked the sodium count in the Bone Broth and it was at 24%, thats a lot. It seems that any broth can have a high sodium content, so I recommend to cut the broth with water.
Also, it doesnt give replacements for those who dont eat meat or pork. Believe it or not there are some of us who dont eat these products, but do eat chicken.
In the Frittata I used turkey bacon it was good but how does it effect the Fat, Carbs and Protein count, it needs to account for these replacements.
Excited about the variety of meals. Was hoping there was an easy way to make the meals for two. All meal preps are for one person. So plan on cooking more that one day a week.
Also seeing some mistakes in the recipes. Like the Broccoli Cheese soup says it serves four. But in the directions it says divide into 6 meal prep containers.
See my point? So are the macros correct? I haven’t got very far into the book but love Aaron Day. He is the best.
I am happy with my purchase. The recipes are well thought out and are easy to follow. They taste good too!
This book dose a great job of providing clear and concise information on the ketogenic diet and has many many keto-friendly recipes. the best thing is that you can switch recipes from different weeks if you dont like one of the dishes in the week plan.
I have tried the zucchini chicken alfredo and shepherds pie, they turned out incredibly tasty, never thought I could eat healthy yet delicious food at the same time.
this book will be a tremendous asset for me to continue on the keto diet without cheating during the week.
